Default Group B, Day 1: Spain vs. China

The #2 favorites get underway against a team they have beaten handily in the last three Olympics. China's performance a bit of a mystery in the post-Yao era.

Easy win for Spain. They're going to close the game out in the third quarter.

The only decent players on Team China are Jianlian Yi and Zhizhi Wang. The rest (yes, including Yue Sun and Wei Liu) can be rendered harmless pretty easily.

I'm more interested in watching Chen Jianghua. Right were I left him in Beijing 2008.

Spain sandbags a lot before the knockout stages, but not nearly enough to lose this game. Spain by a lot.

    1: Brazil is always disappointing
2: Never dismiss Argentina solely because of age.
3: Never bet against Spain in a knockout game, unless it is against the US.

China has played really well, but Spain has just murdered them from three. Spain 53-41

the half time point difference should be in 10 if Yi wasn't in foul trouble.

Why nobody is talking about the unbeleivable protection spain has from the referees?
And that happens in the olympic games..Spain must be the most favored team in the world by the referees much more than the US
And nobody is talking..Again people are watching and they won't tolerate this nonsense for much

Good 1st half for us. This is Europe so we have no choice but to adapt to it. Interesting to see what China could do with foul troubles in the 2nd.

The refs calling to many free-throw fouls against China, some of them pretty arguable... I think this 12 points difference it's, in part, justified by the number of free-throws the two teams had. Besides this, very annoying game!

We played well, no sense in arguing the fouls, we just need to foul the floppers hard, no soft fouls. It's hard to stop Spain's interior scoring, but we can control the passing angles better, they are prone to turnovers that can be exploited.

All props to China, I can't see them winning but they should certainly be encouraged by the game.
