US girls team looks imo more talented than boys'.
In the girls roster, 3 players are freshly crowned U17 world champions, MVP DeShields, McCall and Turner, while Allysha Gray is an U18 team member who couldn't participate to the recent Fiba Americas qualifier for injury.
From the boys roster, I recognize Austin, Flannigan and Jefferson as Don Showalter's developmental teams members. Austin also played in the 2011 U16 Fiba Americas tournament and Jefferson was member of the 2011 3x3 team at the 2nd world's championship, leading his team in scoring.

    Can't open the Australian thread.

    Some more teams named.

    Spain:
    http://www.feb.es/NoticiaDesarrollo....dNoticia=44126
2011 Women's 3x3 U18 champion Astou Ndour Barro comes back also this year, Leticia Romero and Ariadna Pujol are silver medalists at the 2012 U17 World's championship. A very strong team, maybe favorite #1.

    Brazil:
    http://www.cbb.com.br/Noticias/Show/10226

    Italy:
    http://www.fip.it/News.asp?IDNews=5261
Girls' team looks on paper quite strong, with Elisa Ercoli and Elisa Penna among the best in the U17 team (6th at the World's) + Francesca Gambarini and Erica Reggiani from the U18 Euro team (8th place).

France Federation has invited 7 boys and 8 girls to today's trials to finalize the U18 teams.

Several Junior/Cadet NT names are among the invitees.

    Here's the tournament website:
    http://spain2012.fiba.com/

I hate the websites they have set up for the 3x3 tournaments this year...no stats, unlike the 3x3 tournaments from the last couple years, and instead of telling us what happened in the games the articles and videos are mainly people talking about how great 3x3 is...

In the US girls team, Kaela Davis substitutes previously selected Allisha Gray (injury).

Therefore, girls final roster is 100% made by U17 World champion players.

Both rosters look quite strong, at least on paper.

Coverage on Spain's Astou Ndour, former U18 3x3 world champion.

Amazing Switzerland qualified to the Last 16 round in the men's competition and will play the final for the gold medal in the mixed !

In the Men's tourney Canada, Russia and Serbia are still unbeaten and are already in the quarters with USA, which had an excellent D2.

In the Women's comp Australia, Italy and Spain remain unbeaten and advance to the quarters with USA which was surprised today by China (don't have the slightest idea about the Chinese team, as no data are available in the official site).

Interesting competition but video streaming is very poor (at least in my area).

USAB website says they had to play the OT against China with two players due to foul trouble.

On paper it looks like the group with the US men was the strongest, but hard to tell with 3x3. Only watched a little bit today but playing indoors seems to take away the atmosphere.

LOL no roster on the official site. Anyway the Chinese girls' names are Yang Xi, Dilnara Dilshat, Yu Fei and Fu Yu. Yang Xi won the 2010 3X3 U18(?) games in Singapore but she was listed as 1994 so still eligible now. But who knows how old she is. The Uyghur girl is supposedly a really good prospect.

Chinese boys names are Zuo Zhennian, Jiang Kai, Shi Deshuai and someone else I can't recognize (you think I have a roster in Chinese? no!). Honestly don't know much about them. Heard Zuo will be in the dunk contest.

Thanks a lot, Chinese girls look to be a good team, they could meet Italy (which has U17 and U18 NT players) in the quarters.

That's right, tournament environment is totally different from, let's say, Athens...unfortunately weather conditions forced the change.

    Men's semis: France-Serbia, USA-Canada
    Women's semis: USA-Australia, Italy-Spain

They are outside today but it looks like a very small crowd. Wish they would stagger the knockout games a bit so more of them are broadcast.

Fairly easily win for the US women against Spain in the final.
It was close for the first few minutes but then the American girls cruised through the game to win 21-13.

The men's final was very enjoyable to watch! What a game! Serbia was up 16-12 with less than 3 minutes to watch... U.S made a huge comeback and managed to get the game into OT as the score at the end of regulation was 19-19.
U.S then scored a point to lead 20-19 and then one of the Serbian players (I think it was Andric but am not sure) scored an awesome 3 under pressure to help Serbia win 21-20.

Spain was favorite for the gold medal, with an experienced star like Astou Ndour (1994), while USA girls (all U17 gold medals) were younger (3x'95 and 1x'96).
After the disappointing loss with China yesterday, USA team was the underdog today but played the perfect game in the final with Spain.

That was an awesome final, and it was the classic way of winning from Serbian teams ! The game was anyway very close and the young Americans reached their best position of all 3x3 men's competitions.

Wasn't able to see the finals but wow...Serbia also won the semifinal against France on a two-pointer at the buzzer. They seem to have the USA's number in 3x3.
