They had to build their story on that. But since they didn't want to replay the game, they couldn't. So they gave a clean pass on an illegal open lay-up, because the oponent got a chance to make an under pressure 3 point shot.

So, if Olympiakos had scored the three and Siena had filed a complaint, than the response would also be negative because they made a lay up in illegal time. Equally rediculous.
The team responsible for the whole mess would have benefited so the game would have been replayed. Simple. Unless you don't want to get it.

Anyway appology should be sufficient or you should call everybody posting in that thread and Euroleague officials the same as me.

That would be fair. As fair as Euroleague's decission on that matter
There wasnt an opinion to respect m8.You just cannot say that both teams were unaware of the clock mysfanction when in front of our eyes one of the coaches were jumping up and down screaming about the time and later the half bench of Olympiakos being on the refs pointing the clock. You cant say 1+1=3 and expecting me to respect your opinion.1+1=2 and both teams were aware of the problem.Thats two facts.I will say sorry to you about the kids staff when you grow up and admit your mistake.Until then...respect my opinion of you.

Both benches complained because of the clock. The referee should have used instant replay.
What do you mean by "the second time they restarted it because they were still playing ??

According to the rules ( posted above) , timekeepers have to notify the refs IMMEDIATELY by all means possible about any clock malfunction . If they did so before Spanoulis passed a ball to Law, the refs would stopped the game , sorted the clock out & gave a ball to Oly . To restart the clock and play nothing happened isn't in their job description, so I hope for them it was the second clock malfunction.

To sum things up: it looks like "independent disciplinary judge" chickened out to give some ( even symbolic) fine to Oly . That's pretty bad for the league, it sets a precedent for future clock malfunctions without a risk to pay for it.

The words "the team responsible" implies a deliberate act. But such a thing can not be proven. A jury should go with the facts. They didn't. Euroleague has proven to be an amature organisation here.

If you kill somebody while driving your car, even if you are not at fault, you are responsible, right? Whether you are guilty or not is another matter.

The organisation has too good of a relationship to spoil it as to question if the said team is guilty. Awarding them a new game would have been too scandalous so they just looked the other way and just gave the game to Siena (and no fine for Olympiakos of course so they wouldn't LOOK guilty either).

Olympiacos decided to appeal the ruling of Euroleague judge for the Top16 game against MensSanaBasket. This is becoming ridicolous...

Thats the result of yesterday's ridiculous statement.Lets hope they will find some justified reasons to deny our protest this time and not end up looking even more amateur competition.

Actually guys, the refs can stop the time:

    From the Euroleague Regulations, 2012-2013:

    45.3. Whistle-Controlled Time System

A whistle-controlled time system will be used in all games. All the arenas must have the necessary equipment approved by the Company, composed of one device and four belt packs. One of them will be a backup belt pack. This equipment will be duly connected to the main game clock and work properly.

    (go to 45.3)

So, I don't understand how some of you are so sure that the officials were not involved.

Btw, I agree with Victorious 100% on this. Euroleague's ''arguments'' can not be taken seriously...
