Guillermo Diaz withdrew from the BSN Draf because of the $25,000 Salary Cap for the Draft Picks from 1 to 5.

His advisors, Pilin Alvarez and Miguel Mercado, suggested to him not to play in Puerto Rico for that kind of money, since they think he deserves a contract close to $50,000.

My Personal Opinion...
1. Barea played BSN, was not drafted, and is on the NBA right now
2. Guillermo Diaz was the man at Miami, but Robert Hite is currently on the NBA and Guille was playing in...?
3. Arroyo, Piculin, PJ Ramos, Barea, Dan Santiago all of them went through the BSN... and Guillermo playing in Checoslovaquia?

I am a canes fan and was so happy to see him drafted. But I knew he wasnt ready to go to the draft. He struggled a lot in the college levels. Besides jumping high and hitting occasional shots he wasnt that great. I always liked Denis Clemente as well as Hite.

I would love to see Guillermito play in another league in the US though.
