Default French Elections - Europe turning Right.

Its a matter of minutes before officials announce Sarkozi as the New President of France. After Merkels thrashing the leftists in Germany, now Sarkozi is doing the same in France.
Are Europeans reclaiming their identity back? Have they had enouph of Asians Africans Arabs taking the jobs away? Are they saying NO to new members?

The left will win next time, it's just the normal alternation... Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't think it so simple Rikhardur. Of course there has been tendencies the last decades but I have a feeling that more and more Europeans are "uniting" (lets say) under one umbrella. People need jobs. People want security, people had enouph of globalization. Thats my humble oppinion. The world is changing dramaticaly. Ten years ago Greece was the only country posing a veto against Turkeys entrance. Now everybody seems to aggree, that Europe can't handle new entries, or more refugees from third world countries. I hounestly believe that Europeans are shouting to the Politicians "DO MORE ABOOUT US EUROPEANS" Don't you think so?

I don't think Sarkozi is "extreme right" - he is right, for sure, but he is not extremist. And he's much better than this horseass Shiraque.

That's what I meant, Sarkozi and Merkel won, not la Pen (becirowned?) and neonazis

I think Royal said that policies by Sarkozi may lead to repeat of riots in 2005, or something like that

Haven't anyone noticed that for the leftists the is no difference between center-right, right and extreme-right... they're all called fascists

and if Sarkozy policy leads to riots as they did before, he should declare state of emergency and sent army on street... not unlike before. Destroying someones property is destroying someones property no matter the "supposedtobe" reasons. and if talking and arguements can't help so called "mass peace keeping" has some effective tools for everyone to get their lesson... and no- that's not fascism, it's common sense

I'm not sure actually. This alternation between right and left is pretty common in central Europe, so I don't exactly know if Sarkozy's victory had actually something to do with the points you mentioned. People generally tend to get tired of one of the sides after some time and decide to choose the other one.

Those are not French citizens. They just prove how much Sarkozy is right about immigration problem in Europe... Don't they understand they are giving him more power by doing these riots?!

Sárközy is a Hungarian Jew, so of course he will crack down on Arab immigration and be more "friendly" with the US just like he promised b4 he was elected. He also promised to be firm on climate change and global warming, but it remains if he has the balls to take on the US about that.

I still can't believe the French didn't vote for a hot chick like Segolene Royal!!! What's wrong with these people?

Already, the situation in France is pretty calm... Don't let you abuse by medias trying to dramatize situation. No peculiar violences last night, a little more than usual, but like any unusual night. Though, everyone was afraid Sarkosy's election would end on "riots" like in november 2005.
Already, Sarkosy was really turned into a very bad person by his opponents, whereas during the campaign, he put the emphasize on the meeting of all the people. And even after the election, he still made it the central them of his speach, congratulating Royal for her campaign, calling her to join him in the fight against heating of the earth. I don't think he is that bad anyway, at least he told what he wanted to do. He had tough words, that's the bad thing. But at that time, he was in charge of the state security. As a president, he will change his speech, as he did during the campaign. Anyway, France is not a state under war or anything like that.
