    Default USA in FIBA Americas

As we all know since 2002, USA is not the best team internationally. D-wade said that before last year's FIBA WBC. Now, they are trying to regain the throne. Who wants to see USA lose in the FIBA Americas (which is quite impossible) or in next year's Olympics? I love the look in their faces when they loose a game.

If they win gold next year, unfortunately I won't have the satisfaction of seeing your face.

I want to see USA lose, but just because it gives Argentina more chances to win. But I don't think that is going to happen this year, Argentina is missing most of his stars, Brazil has no teamwork and Puerto Rico is usually very irregular. Maybe Puerto Rico can beat USA, but it would just be if PR has on of those brilliant games they have from time to time (like they did in Athens).

The US on paper should gain a birth to the Olympics. Historically, the Brazillians have given the US lots of trouble, so I wouldn't be surprised if they give the US a scare. I won't count Argentina out against the US just yet, even though they're missing some key players. Argentina is the only team in the Americas that play a consistent "team" style offense--very motion based--which is the formula for beating the US. Even without their big stars, Argentina has a team system in place that's hard to compete against. You're right about Puerto Rico. They're very inconsistent. If they have a game like in Athens or the first half of their world championship meeting last year, then the US could be in trouble, but that's a longshot. This current US squad is better than the '04 team, and Puerto doesn't have the advantage of sneaking up on the US like they did in Athens. Just my thoughts.

we used the bench on the 4th quarter because the US opened the game because our guys relaxed at half time

USA is the favorite, but not a huge favorite as they were some years ago

No NT in the world can match the talent the USA can present on every one of their teams.

I think USA will win the FIBA Americas Championship but somehow, someway will manage to loss the '08 Olympics (not to China)

I hope US wins the Americas and Beijing 08. I hope they do it in style as well.

they should focus on just winning because if they worry about the style, they can get over eager and lose control.
