Jefferson and Lucas Tischer don't deserve any consideration?
If it´s Jefferson Sobral that you are asking he was always a good prospect, but he never was able to play in a good level for a good time. Never liked his defense.

Nenê, A.Varejão, Rafael Araújo, J.P.Baptista, Splitter, Estevam Ferreira, Murilo Becker, Paulo Prestes, Caio Torres and players not in the list like Ricardo Probst(6'8'' PF),Luiz Fernando(7' C), Jefferson William(6'10'' SF/PF) are all better than him.
It was in fact Jefferson William I was wondering about. Whichever one played in the most recent Tournament of Americas. He seemed like a good shotblocker.

Jefferson William didn't had a good season. He was a bench player on his team(the same team of Lula Ferreira, brazilian national team head coach). That probably was not good for him. But he has potential to be a very good player. He is tall, can shoot, can rebound, can block. But he is very raw.
Jefferson Sobral participated of the Lakers summer camp few years ago. After that he came back to Brazil and played well, nothing special. I expected him to become a better player than he is now. He is playing now for the Harlem Globetrotters.
It's been a pain to be brazilian when the subject is basketball national team... I wish the soccer world cup was after this...
Yeah they didn't do well in WC. The game I saw versus Australia was dogfight all the way but Brazil made some mistakes on the end even though Australia almost gave the game away to them. Brazil missed lots of free throws and Marcelinho was like 1/11 from the floor! They need to clean up some mistakes, like Alex missing wide open layup etc. Looking at other scores, Brazil was competing with most other teams well but just fell short in all games. Pretty much same story for Australia. I think Leandro needs to play some SG occasionally to give other teams some problems. I was impressed with Anderson and Splitter, they were rebounding blocking shots inside! Imagine if Nene was also there to help!

A little discipline would help. The other thing lacking is depth. Brasil has a talented starting 5: Nene, Anderson, Splitter, Barbosa, and Marcello. After them there is a drop-off. Unfortunately, Barbosa is more of a 2-guard. Get someone with more court sense to run the point and let Barbosa play off the ball and Brasil becomes more effective. Marcello is streaky to the extreme so he should come off the bench. More active big guys to spell Nene when he gets in foul trouble and Brasil can do better.

The weakest point is worst coaching thats why Brazil lost the WC. but its not only a single factor for Brazilians defeat many other factors r responsible for this such as some good players were missing etc......................
