Default George Mason University 2008 CCA Champions

George Mason University Patriots (3) beat William & Mary Tribe (5) 68-59 to win the Colonial Athletic Association tournament. The victory earned George Mason and coach Jim Larranaga a return to the NCAA tournament that made them America’s favorite underdogs two years ago. The Tribe, which had won only three CAA tournament games in 22 years before knocking off Georgia State (12), Old Dominion (3) and VCU (1) on consecutive days. Not only was the Tribe playing for its first CAA title, but also its first trip to the NCAA tournament in 103 years of basketball. The Patriots beat N.C. Wilmington (2) to reach the CCA Championships. The Colonial Athletic Conference is still considered a weak conference.

George Mason will try another Cinderella run. When they got to the Final Four, they didn't even win the 2006 CCA Tournament but was an invite to the 2006 NCAA tournament. I was wondering since they won this years CCA tournament, how far will they go. GO MASON!

I agree with you. Just a waste of talent. If you want to be the best, you got to play with the best!

Well, Gabe is making the Philipines a much better basketball country. I'm sure he's happy playing at home too. Did he graduate from George Mason?

As for George Mason, I'll be rooting for them. It was great to see them in the Final Four with Norwood's help. I don't know how far they'll get, but I hope they've got a long ride!
"I really like the attitudes of eagles. They never give up. When they grab a fish or something else, they never let it go. It doesn't matter. In a book, they write they find a skeleton of [an] eagle and there is no fish. It means that the fish beat him and killed him, but he didn't let go." -- Donatas Motiejunas
