And how do you know this? Maybe better than French, but Italian? I don't think so. Do we have a team like Siena? Strengthwise, our league is unfortunately pretty low (Definitely behind Spain, Russia, Greece, Italia,...), but in terms of competitiveness, it can be better than a few mentioned, which is kind of meaningless. Our elementary school league was competitive too.

INTEGRAL, greece on second place? With 2 strong clubs ant others "bankrupt warning" clubs? Turkey, Russia and Italy are ahead of Greece already.

Italia has three top16 teams, one of them being a serious f4 candidate. What do we have? Please remind me last time any of our teams played F4? or F8? or any type of success for god's sake? Wake up! Ours is an expensive league with crappy expensive teams, until any kind of real success is achieved. Efes, Fener, and Besiktas are jokes, only GS and Banvit are doing something respectable this season. That's definitely not enough to be in top5.

So does Turkey..And 2 of them have a strong chance for the top8..

Italy just has a very strong team; Siena...All the other teams EA Milano, Lottomatica Roma, Cantu or anyothers are just 4th placed teams for the first group stages...

Vilnietis I totally agree with you :P I had written Turkey and Russian for the 2nd place at first but then I began thinking of the users say "Ah you are Turkish that's why you overrated yourself bla bla"

Fenerbahce, Efes, Galatasaray will be much better next year...And I hope Beşiktaş, Banvit and Telekom can do much better next year..

Strong chance? Your optimism and judgement skills are interesting, my friend. Now I'm surprised why you didn't put TBL in the first place.

And how many do we have exactly? I really wonder what's your criteria in this ranking. We should talk with the results, not with personal perceptions.

I really hope so. Efes and Fener have the potential to do a lot better. But for so many years we've been hoping this that I'm starting to get bored.

you are all smoking crack.....GREEK LEAGUE, ABOVE ITALY AND RUSSIA???? what i saw of ARIS in eurocup was a disgrace...such a great club, but with such scrub players...it was shocking...olympiacos had easy ride to top 8 becasue of weak turkish teams who spend money but are useless as usual
russia has 5 teams left in european competition...thats two more than spain, 3 more than greece...

european league ranking goes like this, in terms of history, competitivness and organization/revenues

    1) spain
    2) VTB/EX USSR LEAGUE
    2) italy
    3) russia
    6) ADRIATIC/EX JUGOSLAVIA LEAGUE
    4) greece
    5) turkey
    6) serbia
    7) lithuania
    8) BALTIC LEAGUE
    9) poland
    10) germany
    11) france
    12) slovenia
    13) croatia (wow, croatian teams are terrible right now)

FYI, Aris are 9th (out of the play-offs atm) and PAOK who were even worse during the current season's Eurocup are 7th in A1 standings, while most of the clubs who rank below these two, are on the brink of disintegration.I think it's safe to assume therefore that they are not exactly the best A1 has to offer after PAO-Oly.Having said that, i almost completely agree with your assessment.Other posters here are either ignorant of the current state of the Greek league or just trying to be polite.
My only objection lies in you ranking the Polish league above the French and German ones. Not likely...

you are pretty much spot one here, but I would just swap the first 2 places and move VTB at the top...as much as ACB has good revenue/history/organization, VTB beats it in terms of quality of the teams and the scale of the competition. 5 of the 8 current ULEB Cup quarterfinalists are from this league and then of course we have CSKA and Kazan, which are TOP 8 in Euroleague as well.

Having seen Russian league in few ocassions (they started broadcasting it here on Sportklub) i gotta put Adriatic and Turkish infront of it. Apart from the few top teams quality is shocking bad (for what i was expecting). As well as the fan support.

Which games have you seen? But anyway your point is laughable as EL quarterfinalist UNICS is at 5 W - 6 L stance and Spartak SP which lost only once in EuroCup is 5 W - 7 L right now.

[QUOTE=Cibos;692248]As well as the fan support.[\quote]
Maybe, we can count it as some half-true

My opinion is something like that:
    1. Spanish ACB.
    2. Russian PBL.
    3. Italian Serie A.
    4. Turkish TBL.
5-8. French Pro A, German Bundesleague, Greek A1, Adriatic League.
9-11. Ukrainian Superleague, Israeli Premier League, Belgian D1.

I must note that LEB Gold and Lega2 are on the level of 9-11 and maybe even higher.

Also 3 leaders are massively dominating their opponents and ACB is clearly the best basketball league in the world (forget about overseas flying circus ). If we measure medium level of teams and competitiveness then ProA and Bundesleague are much higher than, say, Turkey and Greece but they don't have such a heavyweight powerhouses like Pao, Oly or even Efes and Fener.

I hope to give some explanation of my ranking a la thread starter's posts in near future though I'm not that well-informed on some League aspects which he brilliantly underlined (what's about, say, Israeli League attendance? I must google it).

Acb also have 2 teams in top-8. In my opinion best 8 ACB teams have better level than best 8 teams of VLb except cska
