Seems like Lithuania might have new sensation at youth level - born in 1992, Darius Kibildis. In the Lithuanian high- school league's (MKL) final (it was played in the same format as Eurobasket 2011 and schools got names by different countries ) he scored 46 points and grabbed over 10 rebounds. The guard nailed some incredible clutch threes and made a big comeback for his Druskininku "Atgimimo" team (Macedonia) against Vilniaus Šv. Kristoforo gimnazija (Greece - and they won finally 91:95). Darius has perfect skills set - good ball handler, aggressive penetration, perfect shooting mechanics, sharp passer. If he can bring all that to man's BB he might be very interesting late-bloomer. Only this season youth NT teams coaches notice him (after tonight I think all Lithuanian BB elite will mark him ) and I hope I'll see him in U19 or U20.

So Greece won the final against Macedonia

In the small final another guy scored 44 points (he already played for youth NT and didn't show nothing similar to that). In one LSKL game Bendzius scored 53 points...It means absolutely nothing, cause it's not youth EC, WC, LKL or NKL. In the street they could score 100 points like Chamberlen.

TV6 was broadcasting that game. Maybe someone recorded this stuff.

Good points. That's why I said IF he would bring that to pro level and that IF is very big On other hand, I was watching a great player in his level and his skills set really impressed me. They doubled defence over him in the second half, but he found the ways to score. His transition to next level is another question, no doubt.

Finally, why I marked him, it's because at that level he seemed like the most complete PG/SG prospect Lithuania could dream about (at least in offensive end, well that's tradition in Lith school ). I finally saw a guard which is pure threat at offensive end and he reminded me young Jasikevičius in his first years after NCAA and I would like that such player would occur at the highest level as we obviously lacking world class material in 1 position these days. Yeah, it's only KML and maybe he would struggle big time in higher level, but despite that he looked like perfect combo guard prospect with great offensive abilities.

Look, he's already 19 years old, but he didn't and doesn't play in NKL and even RKL. He plays only in amateur league, it means he's not a basketball player at all. For example, Jogela and Lekunas, who played in that school games, are 1 year younger and they already are known: had good performance in NKL and in youth NT. While your mentioned kid has never been there. I didn't see the game (though i wouldn't make any conclutions based on the one seen game), but the facts are simply against him.

P.S. I clearly remember your kind words about Janavicius as hell one promised pg.

FOA, did I say he'll be this or that? No. Second, did you hear about late-bloomers? Did you hear about poor scouting or no- scouting of MKL players while the guy is playing for small town high school? Did you hear Šiškauskas was a boxer and he came to BB out of street? Did you hair Maskvytis (U19 coach) already noticed and named him as possible late bloomer? Did you watch the game!? I didn't say Janavicius is hell promised

Anyway, you need to watch the game. The only way to understand why I marked him. It's not even about the amount of points. Again, I didn't say he's going to be new Šaras, I said he looks like amazing prospect in MKL.

OK, maybe i didn't understund your mind in the first comment. You liked him playing and that's all, despite of the fact, that it's only MKL and only one game, didn't you?

Nevetheless, how many good players can you name, who being in the age of 19, didn't play in LKL or NKL? (Apart from "americans")

Not too many I guess, but that's why I call him late- bloomer. IMO, he's U19 material and he looked better than some of those who got some minutes in LKL this season. He was good in semifinal as well. We'll see.

Probably he hasn't noticed anything, as this guy isn't among all candidates in the first camp.

Good one. He's talking as that boy would be 15 years old, not 19.

    Exclamation

You would think though that the Lithuanian basketball establishment would take another hard look at Darius Kibildis. Perhaps with better coaching he might very well be a candidate for the U21 team in 2012.

We'll see where is he playing next season and what is he able to bring on the table at the higher level (hopefully). He's a question mark, but Maksvytis (the head coach of U19) thinks he might join NT in the future.

U-21 competition doesn't exist for some years already, I think.

    Question

Renaldas Seibutis was the MVP of the 2005 U21 World Championships won by Lithuania. He was a member of the 2010 Lithuanian team that won the bronze at the World Championships but was an early cut this year.

Would you say that his career has been a disappointment since the 2005 U21 World Championships? In what ways does Renaldas need to improve his game?

Various reasons held Seibutis from showing himself very well..you probably know he played in Euroleague for Olympiacos when he was 20 years old? Kazlauskas saw talent in him, many people saw.

Seibutis had enormous last season, right now he will play in Lietuvos Rytas...today he just scored 20 points in one friendly game. What he needs to improve? He simply needs to play and play much. He has great penetration and decision-making skills, he's fast and good defender, he can hit shots. I believe in him.

P.s. if player was cut from national team, that doesn't mean he's bad...maybe team is/was stronger or he just didn't fit in it?
