Thoots, you're the best person to ask this theoretical question because of you have a dream for your son.

NCAA Div I offers scholarship for your son plus the basketball exposure expected or an own Mall in the Philippines? i know lots of factors to consider but let's simplify it like that. Wouldn't it be a major dilemma for you even?

i don't see it happening. i hope i am wrong.
he might do the japeth aguilar route. go in US and attend try outs. the best school wins. A cautionary reminder for Kiefer, don't ever step on the ball. you'll get injured just like japeth.

i remember a rumor that Ravena got 10M richer after he decided to play for Ateneo.

Maybe Ravena lost interest after learning that coach Black would soon leave Ateneo.

whew..even Ging freecs(Gon's father -hunter x hunter anime/manga), a monster that he is, wanted to go "outside" and explore the "bigger world" as he explained to Gon that there are worlds outside the human perceived world.

If i was a baller, i, too, would have a hard time thinking. It would highly be likely that i wont make it to the NBA star/Superstar level. Or even if i reach my nba dream, i would just be a journey man. I may make it in Europe though. However, the perks that i would get playing for the PBA would be better. Add that the cost of living in the Philippines is lower, date celebrity hookers and you will be under powerful men.
BUT, if i was still young, i would take my chance to develop my game outside the country. My point would be to DEVELOP and learn. My only concern would be if i would be able to gain experience in an actual game and play while i am surrounded by a number of better guys. But the development that i will get will help determine my game and my future no matter if i became an NBA scrub, euroleague role player or a PBA star.

    think about it, Ravena.

DT I have asked your question to my son who is the best position to answer probably on behalf of how Bobby Ray and Kiefer are feeling right now.

"The 2 cases are not of similar nature- one is economics and one is a morality case.
Both of them are very good children having decided on what is best for their families and i would probaby do the same for you guys. But if you are asking me as a basketballer what will make me complete is to finally answer the question; Am I good enough. It is a question that will haunt kiefer and Bobby Ray for the rest of their playing lives."

Above is his answer ...Even with results like these, he still questions himself : I guess the 3 are in the same boat.

Good job being open about it with your son. And good luck to whatever you decide on eventually. (You gain my respect for not avoiding the question. Props.)

I just want to share some details about Davon Potts. The guy is good, I hope he can play for our youth team.

    http://gomatadors.cstv.com/sports/m-...051211aab.html

Last year (2010-11) at Gahr High School, Potts averaged 22.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists in helping the Gladiators to a 26-8 overall record.

Potts' statistics during his senior campaign helped him gain MVP of the San Gabriel Valley League, the Long Beach Press-Telegram Dream Team, MVP of the CIF Division 2A, and First Team All-State.

instead of pursuing a bigger dream like NBA, start with dleague if not drafted. Work hard just like what Jeremy Lin had done.

And if they don't make the cut for any D-League team..?

Corollary to that: do you mean players who didn't make the cut for the D-League like Jeremy Lin and went to the PBA instead did not work hard?

    Believe!

Emman Monfort says you may kiss his PBA draftee's ass

It's worth taking the risk. Clarkson, i saw his highlights and he is very good, he has a slight chance. PBA is just last option but I hope he or Stephan holt or other filams in the future will first try there luck in NBA draft and if not drafted, then Dleague. Try there best for 1 to 2 years. Then if they don't make it into NBA then, PBA.

By the way, Chot is known to discover 1 or 2 Fil-ams everynational team stint. Whom do you guys think he will discover this time? Clarkson? Rosser? Standhinger? Holt?

he doesnt need to try to discover that deep anymore. Pringle and Banchero now are just here in south east asia.
Banchero was looked at by ncaa div 1 schools but too short to play 2. went to play as point guard and became a superstar in ncaa div 2.had impressive numbers playing his first game with smart gilas 1 against the nba draftees 2 years ago. Got injured. Then claimed he's going to italy(he's half italian) to play pro or possibly its national team late last year but he was snatched by noli eala instead.
Pringle was an important piece of his ncaa school, went to play pro in europe and was reportedly going to visit the philippines this june with his mom but instead went to play in abl.
