Well, how about not having enough game to get him drafted in the NBA? No outside jumper, inconsistent dribbling, the tendency to avoid taking over games?

If he was patient in Dleague, maybe 1 or 2 years in dleague he could have made it even a 10 day or better yet 1 year contract in NBA. He has potential, he could have improve in USA more than in local basketball.

Question: Did any D-League team ever express interest in his services?
    Believe!

    from BTV facebook

NCAA: St. Mary's CA vs Purdue via satellite at 1pm

(Keep an eye out for Fil-Am Stephen Holt, who is expected to suit up for the St. Mary's Gaels after missing games due to a knee injury.)

So, was he invited to a tryout? Was he good enough to get a spot?

Your guess is as good as mine.

Jeremy Lin walk that path, being rejected and doubted, but through hard work, dedication and faith he made it.

For every Jeremy Lin, there is a dozen players who never got the breaks they wanted. Norwood never got that break he waited for, so he settled for the next-best thing: the PBA. He's happy with what he's doing now. And that has nothing to do with SMC, MVP, or Henry Sy.

Thats just the way it is. These guys are sellfish. If Henry Sy didnt stick his nose Ray Parks would be improving his game with Georgia Tech right now instead of having his game diminishing with the NU Bulldogs! You can never win with filipino basketball. Local players always complain about Fil-Ams coming in and taking there spots in the PBA. Yet the owners keep bringing them over, some not even real FilAms. Parks jr should be playing shooting guard but instead he is playing forward in the UAAP.
Philippines needs to adopt a european style of basketball not American. What happens at the moment is players are taught according to height. For example: under 6 foot equals PG, 6'0-6'1 equals SG, 6'2-6'4 equals SF, 6'3-6'5 equals PF and anything above is a center. obviously this is not set in stone but more often than not this is what you see in the collegiate ranks. In europe it is down to the players mobility and talent. This is why we struggle internationally!!

Its unfair for you to make a sweeping statement that Henry Sy is selfish. National University made an offer which the Parks family could not resist. As we know Bobby Parks Sr has stayed in the Philippines for almost 10 years before retiring from playing thus he was not able to have a Health Insurance in the US. Everybody knows it is going to be difficult for anybody to survive in the US if you are without Health Insurance more especially if you are in the middle of a battle with laryngeal cancer like Bobby Parks Sr who is also jobless in the US.

It was a Family Decision, the Parks Family could not get the IMMEDIATE health care that the Cancer-stricken Bobby Parks is getting from NU thru the Sy Family plus a job as consultant in NU if they decided Ray Parks is to play at Georgia Tech or any US NCAA Division 1 team, such an assistance by the school is not allowed by the US NCAA.

If you are in Ray Parks shoes would you let your father die of cancer or grab the opportunity to have him cured plus also secure a job for him.

This is a case of what are your priorities. Priority for Life is what they chosen.

Yes I agree that they chose life. Of course they were going to accept they had no choice! My point is Henry Sy shouldn't have offered in the first place. When I heard the news that bobby parks jr turned down the chance to join a Georgia tech division 1 team for NU I was so disappointed. Even now I'm still disappointed, having watched his diminish over the season. I hope they don't get there hands on Stephen holt and he is left alone to try and become the first Filipino in the nba.

Purdue leading by 11 with 16 mins to go. Holt with only 2 points in a limited playing time.
    score: Saint Maryes 32 - Purdue 43

if Henry Sy did not make said offer, what do you think would happen to Bobby Parks who needed immediate medical attention for his cancer when he is unemployed and without health insurance in a United States which suffering from an economic depression.

    Rapid Reaction: Purdue 72, Saint Mary's 69
    March, 16, 2012

    By Jason King
OMAHA, Neb. -- Quick thoughts from Purdue's 72-69 victory over Saint Mary's Friday at the CenturyLink Center.

Overview: Purdue made four free throws in the final 23 seconds to beat No. 7 seed Saint Mary's in the second round of the NCAA tournament. The victory propels the No. 10 seed Boilermakers into a third round game against either Kansas or Detroit on Sunday.

Purdue trailed 69-68 after Saint Mary's guard Jorden Page swished a 3-pointer from the left wing with 45 seconds remaining. But 22 seconds later, the Gaels' Stephen Holt fouled Purdue's Lewis Jackson as Jackson was driving to the basket. He made both free throws to put the Boilermakers ahead 70-69.

Saint Mary's had a chance to tie it on the ensuing possession, but this time Page air-balled a wide-open 3-pointer. Purdue's Robbie Hummel snared the rebound and was fouled with 8 seconds left. His free throws extended Purdue's lead to three, 72-69. The Gaels had one more chance, but Rob Jones misfired on a 3-pointer from the top of the key as time expired.

Turning point: Purdue controlled most of the game and led by 10 points with 7:17 remaining before a valiant comeback attempt by Saint Mary's made the game interesting. The Gaels' went on an 18-7 run that was capped by Page's 3-pointer at the 45 second mark that put Saint Mary's up by a point. The foul call on Holt, which was a bit questionable for that late in the game, put Jackson on the line for what would ultimately be the game-deciding free throws.

Key player: Guard Terone Johnson had 21 points and five assists for Purdue. Jones led Saint Mary's with 23 points and 14 rebounds.

Key stat: Saint Mary's shot just 4-of-25 (16 percent) from beyond the arc. Jones was just 2-of-10 ... Cousy Award finalist Matthew Dellavedova had just 12 points on 3-of-10 shooting overall. He had eight assists.

Miscellaneous: Purdue has now won 14 straight Round of 64 games in the NCAA tournament.

What's next: Purdue advances to play either No. 2 seed Kansas or No. 15 seed Detroit on Sunday. Saint Mary's, which won the outright West Coast Conference title, ends its season 27-6.
