Hatem is indeed the new head coach. Stillman is out but Burgess is in as a strength and conditioning coach.

it seems that no Qatari fans post here.I would love to ask them about their African players,if they have even Qatari heritege. No body even cares to explain their side.I've also read in the Qatari site that they are even pointing out that the Philippines has two or more naturalized players, how pathetic.

I think basketball is not that popular in Qatar, that is why no fanshere is active to discuss things

Hehe :P Man in this Pan Arab Tournament Qatar will do as they wish since it's not an official FIBA tournament. And since FIBA made sure they couldn't cheat in this years' Asian Championship I hope FIBA stops them from doing so again in 2013

Joke of the day still laughing

I've noticed it's not only basketball all qatari representatives in this games are most of them non qataris.
one of the examples is in woman's chess competition. Her name is Zhi Ma or something like that she's east-asian looking.

the Sky is not the limit anymore, it's beyond that !

The Qatar Basketball Federation is aiming for a 2020 Olympic qualification despite Qatar's Olympic Committee bidding for the event to be held in Doha. QBF President Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani would not divulge any more details. So that makes it an eight years long term plan. Interesting.

Host Japan took care of business in the semifinals, dispatching a game Qatar side, 73-66, to set up a championship showdown versus Iran in the FIBA Asia Cup in Tokyo Friday. Kosuke Takeuchi once again led the charge for the Japanese, posting 18 points and nine rebounds in the victory. Japan held Qatar’s naturalization candidate, former NBA player Trey Johnson to just 10 points on 2-of-14 shooting. The victory gave Japan a ticket to its second straight finals appearance in this tournament. The home team is set to face undefeated Iran, which knocked out the SMART-Gilas Pilipinas national team in the other semifinals matchup. Qatar, meanwhile, moves into a battle of third showdown against the Philippines on Saturday.
    lol fucking cheats

Most disgusting group of people on the planet.

soon there will be more merceneries in Qatar than actual Qataris.

Their armed forces are pakistanis and Indians, their workers are foreigners, their educators and experts are foreigners, their athletes across all sports are naturalized foreigners...

    So annoying

dude, their football team is all foreigners

From the top of my head they have 2 from Uruguay, 1 from Brazil, a whole army from Africa, one saudi, a couple of Iraqis and Egyptians...

Even funnier is how these khaliji countries have pakistani and Indian merceneries in their armed forces (Bahrain, Qatar, UAE and saudi arabia all have Pakistanis for example).
