Of course, I was just expecting a larger margin of victory. In addition to the 2 imports, Shanxi is also missing 3 important bench players from last CBA season, and the player from Taiwan hasn't arrived yet. Maybe Nigeria is focusing on testing the players, maybe the refs were way too rigged, I don't know. Perhaps we shouldn't read too much into this.

In the second game Nigeria won with the same margin 84-70. All I know is they were up 41-31 at half time. I'm not aware of any other games they have in China, do you?

That's it for Nigeria in China. They landed some hours ago in the United States.
Alade Aminu is thinking about joining the NT. He just finished his season by winning the French title.

Nigeria: D'Tigers Battle Brazil, Greece, New Zealand in Invitational
By Orkula Shaagee, 18 June 2012

The Nigeria senior men basketball team, D'Tigers will from June 25 to 30 battle Brazil, Greece and New Zealand in a 4-National Invitational Basketball tournament to be held in Brazil.

Spokesman for the Nigeria Basketball Federatyion, Segun Ikuesan told Trustsports by phone that the Brazil tournament will be the last to be attended by the Nigerian side before heading to Caracas, Venezuela for the London Olympic Games men's basketball playoff next month.

Before the invitational tournament, Ikuesan also said D'Tigers will play the Great Britain national team in Houston, United States of America on Thursday.

"The Nigerian side will have a taste of full national team action when they take on Great Britain national team in Houston, United States of America on June 21, before honouring a 4-nation tourney from June 25-30 in Brazil where they will play against Greece, Brazil and New Zealand before heading for Caracas", Ikuesan stated.

He also informed that the D'Tigers will tomorrow round-up it training tour of China where the Coach Ayo Bakare-tutored side played six build-up games ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Qualifying Tournament slated for July 2-8 in Caracas, Venezuela.

According to him, three players, Michael Ohiero of Royal Hoopers, Stanley Gumut of Customs, Abubakar Usman of Kano Pillars; and coaches Ayo Bakare and Sani Ahmed penultimate Wednesday left Nigeria for China and were joined by two assistant coaches Tim Shea and Dominic Okon and eight foreign-based professionals led by team captain Olumide Oyedeji.
The Nigeria senior national side, which is aiming to make its first ever men basketball event of the Olympic Games, began its build-up with a three quick wins over Foshan Long Lions basketball club on June 9, 10 and 13 by 84-54, 74-47 and 110-67 points.

The Nigeria side also edged past Fujian Quanzhou Bank basketball club by 84-56 and Shanxi Zhongyu basketball club by 94-80 in its last warm-up.

I have also confirmed that Akingbala is not with the team. Alabi probably isn't with them too.
If only 8 foreign-based players joined the team in China, then perhaps Obasohan isn't with the team even...

As Mojado has already said, Alade Aminu is planning to join the NT. He will probably join the team in Houston.

I somehow doubt that Alade Aminu will be playing for them. They are having a game today against GB and he's in D.C. The Brittons are still waiting on Gordon and Mullens to appear...
The PG position and the center position are a problem since there is no quality sub for Oyedeji and Skinn for D'Tigers. Umeh would have been good and a scorer like Akognon. Anagonye was also called up,right? Michael Eric?

Really hard to get information right now on who has joined the team. From the video I saw in China, Nigeria really needs so re-enforcements, hopefully the game against GB will show where we are. Funny enough my childhood friend Ogo Adegboye is in the GB squad and starting point gaurd, he was also born in Nigeria

So none of the Nigeria-based players travelled to China and the US. Thought that this would happen.
Agho, Ofoegbu, Ukeagu, Anagonye, Akingbala, Alabi, Eric, Ohiero, Abubakar and Gumut are out.

Its obvious that Nigeria lacks a back-up PG in case Skinn has a bad day. I wonder what would have been if Umeh would have joined if invited. Even Badmus would have been a better back-up then what they got now.
